Romans 15:7 – Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
The hospitality ministry is a vital element of the church. It creates an atmosphere of fellowship whereby we can minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ. The responsibility of this ministry is to minister to our brothers and sisters as God desires us to do through excellence, not for our own selfish gain but to create and foster a friendly and warm environment. We do this so the needs of the saints are met.
The church, like families, need to break bread together to sustain an identity as a community. The table is central to the practice of hospitality in the home and in the church. It is where we are nourished physically, spiritually and socially. Whether we gather around the communion table or for breaking bread with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we are strengthened as a community. It gives us the opportunity to establish new relationships and sustain existing ones.
As Kingdom Citizens, we should offer a generous welcome to “the least of these”. Hospitality is not so much a job as it is a way we live our lives and share ourselves with others. We believe that welcoming someone should
Church is a crucial setting for nurturing a life of welcome. Although it involves responsibility, faithfulness and performing certain duties, welcome emerges from a grateful heart. It is a first response of love and gratitude for God’s love and welcome to us. We appreciate the opportunity to act as host, inviting others to share with us.
Hospitality occurs in significant ways at Victory and includes those who prepare and plan our food gatherings. We are all guests of God’s grace and look forward to extending that grace to those who walk through the doors of Victory International.
